چکیده
The burst dropping ratio is witnessed in the contemporary literature as a considerable constraint of optical switching (OBS) networks that attained many researchers’ efforts recent past. Among multiple practices endeavoring to reduce drop ratio, optimal scheduling one dimension this regard. transmission channel and appropriate wavelength allocation are critical objectives achieve regard minimal ratio. Many models depicted aimed optimum by electing channels, which depend on utilization idle time. Some studies tried select channels any metrics quality, significantly amount focused for lowering BDR. Moreover, this, study beneath manifold objective QoS metrics, identified “multiobjective dynamic (DyWaS).” experimental carried through simulations evinced proposed model DyWaS escalated optimality compared with other existing methods represented literature.

Efficient Scheduling for High-Throughput OBS Networks with Partial Wavelength Conversion
Cost-efficient contention resolution is an urgent topic in Optical Burst Switching. This paper examines the performance of a core OBS node equipped only with partial wavelength conversion, and investigates how the choice of burst scheduling algorithm can affect its blocking rate performance and converter usage. In particular, sensitivity of performance is examined with respect to burst length. ...
متن کاملControl Plane Architecture for QoS in OBS Networks Using Dynamic Wavelength Assignment
We address the control plane architecture of how to provide advance quality of service (QoS) in optical burst switching networks based on dynamic wavelength assignment. Unlike existing QoS guaranteeing scheme, such as buffer-based and offset-time based scheme, our proposed dynamic virtual lambda partitioning (DVLP) scheme does not mandate any buffer or extra offset time, but can achieve better ...
متن کاملDynamic OBS offset allocation in WDM networks
An investigation is carried out into the traffic characteristics of an OC-192 link (9953 Mbps), based on the IP packet size distribution, traffic burstiness and self-similarity. The Generalised Exponential (GE) distribution is employed as a suitable model of interarrival times of bursty traffic flows of IP packets whilst self-similar traffic is generated for each wavelength of each source node ...
متن کاملComparison of Various Scheduling Techniques in OBS Networks
Optical burst switching (OBS) is a viable approach proposed with the objective of utilizing the huge transmission capacity available with WDM links both efficiently and cost effectively. In this paper simulation results for an OBS node with self-similar traffic comparing with drop history schemes, CTBR with the Horizon and the LAUC-VF scheduling algorithms clearly indicate their overall schedul...
متن کاملProbabilistic Preemptive Scheduling for Service Differentiation in OBS Networks
This paper presents a Probabilistic Preemptive (PP) scheduling discipline for service differentiation in Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks. The main idea of PP is that a probabilistic parameter is added to the preemptive scheduling discipline. With PP, a high priority burst preempts a low priority burst in a probabilistic manner. By changing the probabilistic parameter, PP can achieve flex...
